Nutrient Timing: The Future of Sports Nutrition Review: Pure awesome science of getting yoked! - So, as all good reviews start, I have never written a review for a product on desertcart, but this book was so good I had to. Ever since I first discovered weight training all I have cared about was gaining muscle. All my friends wanted to get "stronger" or the mythical, metrosexual "toned." I have just wanted to scare women and children by being jacked. While this book would definitely be helpful for people looking to get "strong" or "toned", it is the first scientific take on how to gain muscle I have ever read. I took a kinesiolgy class in college, but everything we did was related to performance; my teacher couldn't conceptualize the idea that someone would just want to get super huge. That being said, this book gives super in depth, scientific information on how to gain muscle. It talks about using different nutrients to create an anabolic environment in the body and really backs it up with scientific data. I didn't know how powerful certain hormones like cortisol and insulin are, and how much of an effect they have on the body. I loved that Harry Potter books, but this book was even better. If you are a fitness nerd, who has a basic understanding of bodybuilding nutrition, BUY this book and take it to the next level. This book is my new bible and I expect to make ALL KINDZ of GAINZ Review: Excellent resource for building muscle - Cuts through the deal of fad diets and delivers scientifically proven strategies for increasing recovery and performance for all athletes.

Complete Nutrition Guide
In addition to covering nutrient timing this book also discusses diet in general. it does a great job explaining how many calories you need to eat, what ratio of macros you should eat, and the timing of these. It also, goes in depth on the science of what is happening. Furthermore, it has a chapter where it talks about the difference kinds of proteins, what various supplements, vitamins, and minerals do. The dietary advice it provides explains how to gain lean muscle mass and minimal fat by using nutrient timing to make the macros you eat more efficient. There's a lot of conflicting nutrition advice on the internet. It's nice having a book about nutrition that is written by a scientist and based on research evidence. The reason I give this four stars is because some of the information is not well explained. While they tell you the amount of protein, carbs, and so on for the timed drinks they don't provide an actual recipe. The first drink is essentially gatorade + whey protein + vitamins. I think it's easier to use gatorade powder than it is to measure out sugars, potassium, and sodium individually. The next drink is protein + sugar. The last drink is a protein shake. These descriptions are slightly over simplified. To figure out the portions you need to do some math or you need a scale to weigh the ingredients. It's a really good book that answered a lot of diet questions I had.

love it
I thought this book was great. I read other reviews and have to agree that there is information that you should already know, and he does repeat himself alot and he loves to put a paragraph about every new point he makes that says that some Dr. or some university did a study or something. I would have rather him tell me and then list that references. But that being said I think that the informatoin is wonderful and I have used some of it and found that I get better work outs. I actually started using less protein powder(it is hard to get over the"more is better" mentality) and have seen great results still. Showing that by using that amount your body needs and TIMING it correctly you will have good results. I still want to use some of his methods but have not had a chance to do so yet. Great book and a great addition to my library.

An essential read to make gains
Great read with all you need to know to utilize food and suppplements at the correct time to pack on muscle. This book and it's Kindle version were an eye opener for me and my results in the gym improved significantly. It is one of the few books that you need to read on the subject of food and nutrition. Pair this with two other books 1) Better than Steroids and 2) Power Eating, and you have all you need on the subject. You should have no trouble reading in less than week.

Nutrient Timing: The Future of Sports Nutrition
Nutrient Timing: The Future of Sports Nutrition This book has great science behind it, that's what compelled me to try it out in the first place. After reading through the book (there's alot of pure science in there to justifiy their claims) I was sold on the approach. I searched the web for products that would line up with their recommendations. I ended up purchasing the following products: For the NTS Energy Phase (pre-work out/during workout): Accelerade For the NTS Anabolic Phase (post-work out): Endurox R4 I haven't looked hard nor found the appropriate supplement for the NTS Growth Phase. I got the above supplements directly from the maker - Accel Sports. I haven't checked but understand you get them at GNC stores as well. In any case, I started using them. I am 55 years old and hadn't worked out much in the past few years so I thought I could use all the help I could get. I am rather lean (5'10" and 160lbs). I found using these supplements before and after workouts have helped me alot. I feel more energy during workouts and feel like I recover quicker after them. I also had my 16 year old son use them for his workouts (he has a much more vigorous workout than I could even imagine). He says the same thing, he has much more endurance and feels better after using these supplements. Lastly, they all taste pretty good! We have orange and lime flavored Accelerade and Vanilla and Tangy Orange Endurox.

An amazing book. Although a little technical at times, every sentence is information. One must buy this book. It will take sometime to down the technical language.
