Q: do they wick urine away formthe skin or just sit on top all wet and cold?

It absorbs and protects the item it is on (sheet, mattress), but it does not wick it away leaving the surface dry.

Q: I have an incontinent dog that pees while she sleeps, puppy pads don't keep her dry will these keep her dry?

That is why I bought these. Our dog became incontinent and peed in his sleep, then the Vet confirmed he has bladder cancer. These pads work good and are durable, and they are pretty absorbent but need to be changed regularly. We wash them ever day and they just get softer and more absorbent. We bought extras to make sure we never run out. I put them in his bed and on the sofa to protect it from his urine. Make sure that you wash your dog's bottom and belly every day to protect her skin from damage by the urine, best of luck.

Q: Need a waterproof bed pad larger than 72 inches. I s it available?
