Q: What are the washing instructions?

They say to use a neutral detergent. I have been using these diapers for 6 months. I started using tide free and clear and that works great! If you need to deep clean the diapers I do a pre-wash with water only then I do a wash with a table spoon of dawn dish soap. Then I do another wash with 1/2 cup bleach. I do a double rinse after that. I do the deep clean about every 2 months. Hope this helps you!

Q: I washed on hot to rid the ammonia smell (Kirkland signature free and clear detergent) and now they leak, is something wrong?

Hi Jasmin! If you are experiencing leaking you could try stripping your diapers: The method we advise is the following however if you are experiencing that the diapers are continuing to smell we advise adding either a bit of baking soda or bleach to the wash. We do not suggest this as a continued method as it will eventually break down the diapers but every so often it can help kill all bacteria. 1. Turn water heater up to 140F or higher. 2. Wash everything 3 times on HOT, using a detergent of your choice (for example: Purex free and clear). 3. Run the wash cycle 2 more times with no detergent. 4. Pull the covers out and dry them on high for 10 minutes, then hang dry. (The idea behind drying the covers on hot is to potentially “re-seal” the PUL in the covers) 5. Wash the inserts two more times, once with detergent, and once without :) Hope this is helpful!

Q: Can these work for my almost 9 week old?

If the child is 8-10lbs already then possibly. If not you’ll have to wait as they fit chunkier thighs better. You could always try the newborn hack on them (google “cloth diaper newborn hack)
