Cracker Barrel Sharp White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese Dinner, 14 oz Box

When you need a side dish to go with your meal this makes a simple and easy choice. It will serve four people adequately.The directions are simple, add the macaroni to salted boiling water, cook 7 minutes, drain and add the packet of cheese sauce. Voila! It's done!We don't have a Cracker Barrel restaurant so I can't compare it to the actual restaurant dish. But Growing up I ate a lot of Kraft dinner (mac and cheese) and velveeta. This version tastes even better. When I eat Kraft dinner today,I find it not cheesy at all. This new version is very cheesy.Kids will love this mac and cheese. I highly recommend it for time saving and taste.

Although I have been a customer of Kraft's macaroni and cheese products for many years, and their products are very good, I've decided to try this product, even though it costs more than Kraft's because even though they have the basic pasta products, the cheese components offer sharper cheese flavors, which are more to my liking. I've ordered and received several different cheese varieties, with the costs averaging about $2.00 per pound, when comparing Amazon's prices for these products, comparing local retail prices plus buying the sauces separately, the costs are about even ?

the cheese is a bit thick but it’s really good..

It is definitely not what you taste in their dine in restaurants but, still tastes decent. You get what you pay for. It is a decent amount/quality when cooked/made to eat for a dinner at home. The taste of the white cheddar is not bad but not super super great. I could eat it again though. This was my first time trying there product. It is unfortunate though, no retail stores in my small town local area sell there food products. This is why I ordered it off Amazon, something new to try out for dinner at home.

one end was opened and not even there and the noodles were delivered in a manila envelope so was very disappointed in the shape of this box. Meal was very delicious I had to throw away the noodles as not expecting them to be part out of the box. Cheese mixture was very delcious

After following all the instructions on the bag, layer the macaroni and cheese mix alternating layers of shredded cheddar. Then, mix a cup of milk and an egg with a little Tabasco sauce and add spoon fulls on top of the macaroni and cheese allowing it to settle into the crevices. Top with panko crumbs and bake on 350 for 20 minutes.

Anything more than about $3 is a ripoff. The flavor would be good, but it's just so salty. I know these kinds of products are far from low-sodium, but this tastes almost twice as salty as velveta. I ended up cooking half a box of plain pasta to mix in with this box, which mellowed out the salt level a bit but lost a lot of the cheddar flavor.
