Thoughtfully designed SMPS
This power supply is a step-down transformer + sense coil buck converter topology with a current mode UC3843 controller chip. It's a bit old-school, but more than capable of the 120 watt rating. Great price considering the product I received. The only gripe I have is that the flexible epoxy application and solder joints are a little messy, nothing terrible though.

Works great better than description.
I really the barrel connector it's the most common size. I was impressed by the included barrel to wire adapter. I never have seen one like this. Though I don't need it for my current project it will be a valued addition to my adapter box. A++++

Works with my Westcott Icelight 2
I recently bought a Westcott Icelight 2 that came with no charger. I was glad to find this identical charger vs Westcott's $60 charger online that does the same thing. It charges without an issue, a great deal!

Works well, but makes noise - Addressed by seller
updated -BTF-LIGHTING was very helpful in attempting to resolve my issue of the whine during dimming. First off, I'd like to say that the whine may not be noticeable to many people. It is fairly high pitched and only audible in a quiet room. BTF-LIGHTING provided a replacement 10A power supply. This supply performed better than the 6A supply, but still made some noise. I also had a 12V 30A supply on my shelf and tested with that. Surprisingly, it ALSO made noise, so the issue is NOT unique to BTF-LIGHTING power supplies, it is more common. In my case, I intend to locate the supply inside a cabinet that will dampen then sound and effectively eliminate the issue. This is not a BTF-LIGHTING power supply issue, it is a common issue. I appreciate BTF-LIGHTINGs assistance in helping to resolve the issue and quickly responding and addressing my issue. I will definitely continue to use BTF-LIGHTING equipment and recommend it to others.original --When the output is off, or at max power, there is no sound, but when the power is in the middle, the supply generates a very annoying whine sound that varies in loudness depending on load.

Pretty clean power for an smps
I have an old car stereo amplifier that I was playing around with in my garage. I hooked it up with some speakers and a sub then powered it with an old 12VDC 2A adapter that used an EI transformer. It worked but the output was kinda weak, it needed more current. So I got a Me*n W*ll smps adapter with higher current. That was pretty bad, you can hear the switching freq. bleed into the audio. So finally I got this one. I was hesitant as first, fearing that the switching freq. is within audible range. Anyway, my worries were quelled after I hooked it up. It was as quiet as the old EI transformer adapter that I was using, but with more current to really bring the amp to life. The switching freq. is probably above the audible range or they have excellent output filtering, or both.

Not UL or ETL listed
I am a contractor and The fact this is not UL or ETL listed means I can’t use it for any jobs. Was going to use it for LED lighting but it won’t pass code. Also, never know about these inexpensive electronics that are not listed. Not worth the risk.
