Practical, easy to understand book that provided me one of the tool to become self-aware
I recommend this book for anyone who is very data driven and assumes that data and facts speak for itself but then realizes that most of the times it does not. Communication is key and meeting otherâs needs and beliefs is what makes a big difference. This book is a practical guide that helped me understand my own algorithms that drive my behavior. Additionally, it helped me optimize algorithms that do not get me the outcomes I desire. Moreover, it then helps provide framework for understanding others algorithms so that we meet on common ground.Very practical and easy to understand book. Donât skip the exercises if you wish to gain the most insight from this book.I am determined to create a log of my algorithms as situations happen in day to day so as to know and better my behavior.

Deceptively Profound
This is one of those books that I would call "deceptively profound."If you've worked in several organizations, and have done a bit of self-improvement work/reading, you can be tricked into thinking "Oh, I knew most of that."While one may experience a degree of that, one must realize that the real value is in the synthesis and structuring of all this related material, to which by chance, one may have been intermittently exposed. In other words (and you should understand this if you work in analytics), the value is in the aggregation and interpretation. There were certainly concepts that were new to me.Below is a test for whether this book might help you.If you have these "algorithms" running in your brain and working against your professional or personal goals and happiness, please consider buying Gilbert's book:đľIf I disagree, they wonât like me.đľIf I say no, they wonât like me.đľIf I express an idea, I might be annoying / judged / rejected.đľIf I make a mistake, people will not like me.Thanks to Gilbert for a great book for analytics, data science, and programming professionals.

A Helpful read for any Analytical thinker!
My interests mostly revolve around data management and analytics. And on many occasions, I am communicating data-related techniques/outputs to less technically-inclined folks. What I liked about this book is Gilbert's concise explanation of "Algorithms" we all have. The ones we have, but are not aware of, and the ones others do.This got me thinking on ways I can try and pick up more on what patterns others have & share my own.Great read with lot's of helpful examples!

It's like the author totally gets me!
"It's like the author totally gets me!"This thought kept coming up while I was reading this book. I saw a lot of parallels between my thought processes and reasoning and the author's. This shows that the author had a deep insight into how the analytical mind works.I work as a data analyst. I completely love what I do, and I am totally obsessed with analytics. But not everyone shares my passion or understands why they should care about my findings. This books helps bridge that gap and trains any analytical thinker on how to communicate well with others, in the language that they understand. And importantly, the value and logic behind building up these soft skills are clearly outlined in a persuasive way which has motivated me to improve myself in these areas. And doing so has been beneficial to my career and personal life. This book is truly a must read for analytical thinkers.

Great way to break down relationships.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who thinks they "don't get" people and struggle with making lasting relationships on both a personal and professional level. The way things are broken down into algorithms to approach interactions with others makes a lot of sense and is easy to put into practice. When the book tells you about halfway to stop speeding through and work to put plans into action, do so. It's not meant to be rushed through (though it's easy to do just that) so that you can put plans into place and tweak as necessary. I'm the biggest introvert I know and have found use in just talking to people in my own household. A must buy.

Great book for reflection and optimize people skill
I got recommended by another analytical thinker. Now I would love to recommend it to more people so we all can benefit from this book! While you are reading this book, you started a self reflection mode. We usually got into the situation that it's "I'm the right one ", "I need this" ,"why did you always creat trouble?" and then ended up a failed negotiation/ conversation. We would have the right cause for our actions but we are not showing the compassion to lead a good conversation. This book teaches us try to see the world from the other person's perspectives to create a successful persuasion. There are some exercises in the book for you to practice which is very practical and can fit in your professional life.Welcome on-board to this book :)

A must-read for anyone who wants to improve their social skills (ANYONE)
As someone who's always been more comfortable with numbers than with people, I was a little skeptical about how much this book could help me. But boy was I wrong! The author breaks down complex social situations into easy-to-understand concepts, and provides practical tips and strategies for how to handle them. One thing I really appreciated about this book was that it didn't feel like a self-help book. It wasn't preachy or condescending, and it didn't make me feel like I was doing everything wrong. Instead, it felt like I was having a conversation with a friend who just happened to be a social skills expert. The author's writing style is engaging and funny, and there are plenty of relatable anecdotes and examples throughout the book. It's clear that they really understand the struggles of analytical thinkers, and they provide plenty of empathy and encouragement along the way.If you're someone who wants to improve your social skills but doesn't know where to start, or if you're just looking for a fun and informative read, then "People Skills for Analytical Thinkers" is the book for you. So go ahead and add it to your cart - your future self will thank you!
