Awesome baby carrier, better than MobyWrap, ErgoBaby Carrier, and Infantino Flip Carrier
I purchased this after using both the MobyWrap and the Infantino Flip Front 2 Back Carrier Black . I bought the Infantino Flip because it is similar to the Beco Baby in that it can be used for front carry (facing in and out) and back carry. I thought I was getting a good deal, but after my daughter was over 10 pounds I stopped using it entirely because it caused me such pain (the straps are not very padded). The clip near her head actually dug into her face and rubbed against her cheeks. I felt awful about her wearing it. The Moby Wrap Original 100% Cotton Baby Carrier, Chocolate is nice, but really it is just a long piece of fabric. My daughter is still comfortable in it (she's almost 6 months now), and it isn't uncomfortable for me. I just didn't like that the fabric drags on the ground and it is time consuming to put on. I've worn her in the "newborn hug hold" and "kangaroo wrap and hold". I didn't like the idea that I'd have leave space in the wrap for the baby, so I most often used the latter. I was given the MobyWrap by a friend that had 2; if I had to buy one myself, I would have bought the Sleepy Wrap Classic Wrap Baby Carrier, Brown, 0-18 Months (aka Boba Baby Wrap) because it is a stretchy fabric. This carrier is wonderful. I bought it after trying on a Ergo Baby Carrier Black with Camel Lining (the original) in a baby box store. I really liked the padding on ErgoBaby, and perhaps it is superior to the BecoBaby. However, I only wore the ErgoBaby for 10 minutes in the store. My only complaint about the BecoBaby is that the straps still seem to rub into her face, but nowhere near as bad as the Infantino Flip (I didn't notice this with the ErgoBaby). The straps on this are organic cotton though, so it is not as abrasive as the webbed straps on the Infantino Flip. I imagine the drool pads Beco Drooling Pads would relieve this problem. In the meantime, I just wrap a baby wash cloth around the strap for her to teeth & drool on; it protects her face nicely. I purchased this instead of the ErgoBaby because I wanted to be able to have her face out, occasionally. It is a lot more comfortable than the Infantino flip. I've worn her in it for an hour while nursing and around the house. Also, I wore her in it for an hour at the grocery store; she never made a sound, and she even fell asleep in it. The main improvement the ErgoBaby has over BecoBaby is the pocket. The sleepy panel mentioned in the other review, I don't really feel is a sleepy panel nor do I feel it is a product flaw. It is simply supportive padding, a headrest, probably for use when the baby doesn't have full head & neck control. I was able to nurse in the carrier without much difficulty. I wasn't wearing a nursing top (I did have a nursing cami on). I had to stand up or sit on a wooden chair, rather than the sofa. Nursing was not hands-free, but only required one hand. If I sat on furniture I sank into, my daughter was no longer aligned properly to eat. I checked in the mirror several times, there was no exposed skin showing. I don't mind the secure, two-handed, snaps because I know that means she's secure. My baby will be unable to open the buckles herself. There seems to be no chance that they'll open by accident.

Works Great
Absolutely love this carrier. My baby hates the stroller and has to be carried every time we leave the house. I have a soft wrap and this “harder” wrap. This harder one is my go to for walks, going to the grocery store, and any type of shopping. It is sturdy, so easy to put on (even on my own), and she feels secure and safe in it. My husband is also able to wear it if I’m tired and it’s such an easy process adjusting the size. Baby loves it and after observing her surroundings when we are out and about she is always so comfortable that she falls asleep. There is a little pocket in the bottom that is perfect for putting car keys but won’t fit a phone. This harder wrap is my preference over the soft one and I use it a lot more often. I also love how it’s made of clean materials because my baby loves chewing on it. I’ve been able to use it since she was only a few weeks old. The only time I prefer the soft one is when we travel on an airplane because the hard one can get uncomfortable to sit in for me. This harder one is also hard to wear when doing things around the house because it is more constricting and doesn’t allow me to move around as freely. I would highly recommend to have a hard one and a soft one for different occasions, and the hard one should be this beco one!

individual prefrences, didn't work for us but no major flaws
wanted to love, but just didn't work out for my baby. she's on the smaller side and was just not sitting right and wasn't comfortable. might work great for others. Seems to be of good quality, no major issues. trial and error with carriers, so many individual preferences

Lightweight, comfortable for both of you
So I looked at a number of baby carriers but decided to go with this one after trying on a couple at our local baby store. Honestly, the first three months of our baby's life he was so happy in the Boba wrap but as soon as he hit three months, he became more interested in seeing the world. and wanted to have a little more flexibility. We has always been big for height and weight, and we still only faced him in towards us for the majority of the time, and since that time this has been our go-to choice for carriers. Fast forward 5 months and now he is 8 months old and we have tried the carrier in every position. He is still as happy as a clam. We recently returned from a month living in Amsterdam with side trip all around the lowland countries. The carrier was where our little man was the most happy. We wore him facing in when we walked from place to place or climbed bell towers; we faced him out when we were at the museums so he could see the art/ exhibits; we wore him as a backpack when we biked from Amsterdam north to Marken and back. Our little guy loves to take naps in this carrier. He is comfortable when I wear him (5'6" 150lbs) and when my hubby wears him (6'4" 230lbs). Things I love about this carrier: -Machine washable. It cleans up very easily. -4 carrying positions including Ergonomic-inwards and Experiencing-the-world-outwards -Quick on/off even with the fussy buckle -So comfortable for you and the baby -Simple and completely adjustable Only thing I don't love: The buckle is annoying, but it's not really an issue. Strapping in isn't the problem, but taking it off is when you need two hands. Most of the time you unlatch the top buckle (across the top of your back), take your baby out and set him down, then spin the waist buckle to the front and pop it off. There are two hacks you can do if it really bothers you. First is find and buy a replacement large buckle. Good luck. I know somewhere you can find one, but I'm still looking. OR you can buckle the waist buckle backwards so the locking mechanism doesn't line up. I've done this a couple times by accident and it hasn't unlatched on me, but it's probably not the safest so I don't recommend it. The pros outweigh the cons on this one. Hope that helps!

Great for tall parents and tall babies
LOVE this carrier! I had the moby wrap but returned it because it was too cumbersome to put on and got so hot after wearing it (July/August) that my daughter threw up a couple times from the heat. I am 6ft tall and curvy body so I wanted something that would work with my body structure and that was comfortable for my back. I tried my friends infantino (older basic model) and hated it because it hurt my back. After lots of research I settled on the beco Gemini and love it. I have been using it for a month now and use it at least once a day. I have two under two and sometimes I need to wear my 2mth old so her 2 yr old sister won't mess with her while I make dinner, do laundry, house cleaning etc. I also wear it for grocery shopping with both kids (wear the 2 mth old with 2 yr old in cart) and walking the dogs. I like the secure head rest because when I need to bend over to the dryer, dishwasher, bottom shelf, etc and baby does not fall out. Baby and I do get a little warm when we go for walks sometimes but that was primarily in the month of August (we live in the south) but since her arms and legs are free she doesn't get too hot like she did in the moby wrap. This carrier is very comfortable to wear for several hours and easy to put on and take off. My husband is 6'4 and thin and did not think he would like wearing any carrier but tried this one after seeing how I liked it and he was surprised at how comfortable it was and now we fight over who is going to wear the baby when we take walks. I will say my baby just turned 2mths when we got this carrier and she is a tall infant (24inches 10lbs at 2mths) so I had no problems with her fitting securely. I do not know how well it would fit for a smaller infant. My two year old daughter got jealous of me wearing her sister in it all the time and wanted a turn so I put her in it on my back and went for a walk around the neighborhood. She loved it and I we were both comfortable. She is also a tall two year old and weighs over 30lbs (haven't had her weighed in a while so I don't know exact weight). I look forward to using this carrier for a while as my girls grow.

Mixed review. Baby age & weight, stage by stage review.
Wanted to give 3.5 stars but not an option. Gave 3 because need this review to stand out from the stellar 4 star reviews. Would give 4 stars for it's ergonomic carrying comfort. In that regard I'm a huge advocate of this carrier. Well padded cross-back straps evenly distribute weight. Never have back pain. 4 stars for versatility: good for small newborns & up, and can accommodate forward facing and backpack carry. That said, as time has gone on I've run into significant problems using the Gemini, to the point that at baby age 9.5 months we are having to retire it. very frustrating considering the cost of this carrier. 2 factors: 1) Huge believer that adult stature and baby stature, and combination of the two have a lot to do with whether a particular carrier is excellent or terrible for you. 2) I believe there is a slight design flaw. Explain: Newborn (5 lbs). Son too small for carrier. Gemini states it is for 7 lbs infant without need of infant insert. NOT true for us. 7 lb son drowned in the carrier. Purchased the Beco Soleil infant insert and it translated well to the Gemini. Problem solved, except of course the frustration of having to purchase an infant insert when told we wouldn't need one. Gets pricey. Infant: Son quickly outgrew the infant insert. Ease and comfort of carry through 7 months old: excellent. Pro: seat snaps that fold in, creating narrower seat space for comfort for infant carry. Con: is at this stage the straps always hit him right in the face, rubbing his face and encumbering his comfort and view. In the ad photo featured with the man carrying baby, it appears baby's face is not encumbered by the strap. This was NOT true for us. Perhaps because of my large breasts? Poor design considering woman? I don't know. But That strap pictured was OVER his face. He had better chance of looking under the strap to see. Age 8 months is when the big issues began. Son is in 96th percentile for height & 90th for weight - 22 lbs at 8 months. Contrasting, I am thin, 5'6" 125 lbs. From 6 months baby needed wider seat base so snapped the wide seat into place. I never quite feel like I can get the carrier tight enough around my waist to hold up this giant baby. At 8 months the seat snaps began randomly popping out of place during carry, creating a lopsided baby and giving him red marks where the seat base rests. By 9 months the snaps pop every time I place him in carrier, no matter how carefully I try, how gingerly I walk, how I am SURE to never bend at waist even an inch, no matter face-in or face-out carry. Snaps pop pop pop immediately. PRODUCT FLAW. SHOULD BE STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD HIS WEIGHT AS ADVERTISED. Again this creates a tiny seat base for my giant son and cuts into his legs. Also I shouldn't have to walk on egg shells like I have been! Mind you! The carry is still VERY comfortable for me, even with a 23 lb 9 month old. But it no longer works for him. So now having to look into buying a new carrier. After the purchase of this pricey carrier AND infant insert, and all the carrier promises about reaching 30 lbs no problem, is very disappointing. In conClusion, it really just depends on your personal situation, stature, and baby stature. BUT I definitely believe the snaps that can't hold as advertised are a product flaw.

Awesome carrier!
After reviewing several baby carriers while pregnant I settled on ordering this one. I chose it because it was made in America, offered multiple carrying options, was able to be used from birth up to 35 lbs, and because it offered back support for the wearer and has ample room during a forward facing position so that the baby is sitting on his rear and not dangling from his crotch (this is a problem with the Baby Bjorn). I was mainly considering this, the Ergo, and the wraps. I ordered this before our son was born and we have loved it! It is comfortable, simple to understand (comes with an step by step photo guide for all positions), and I can easily put it on and take it off by myself. The baby seems to love it- he often takes a nap while in it. I have worn it for hours (my two month old is 14 pounds) and provided I maintain good posture I do not notice any increased back pain, etc. I like that it is cotton, as I live in a warm climate and the baby is like a little heater. Very very happy with the carrier. I highly recommend.

This carrier *might* work if you are a three-armed giant carrying a super tall, giant baby...
I purchased the Beco Gemini on the recommendation of a doula working in Tokyo, Japan. She said the Gemini was an easy-to-use, all-season carrier. I've found the opposite to be true and this is why: Putting It On / Taking It Off - It's nearly impossible to take this on or off without sitting down. The waist buckle is literally impossible to unlock without using two hands. The locks on the two strap are tricky to unlock without using both hands, and the lock on the strap that sits just below the neck is so hard to reach and lock, that I can't even manage to ever use it without a second person to help me navigate. Carrier Size - The Beco website states that the carrier is ideal for people between 5'-6' 5". I'm 5' 5" and 127 lbs and am swimming in this carrier - neither the waist or shoulder straps tighten enough to keep my 10lb infant comfortably inside the carrier. The Beco site also states that this is ideal for infants/babies that weight upwards of 7lbs, and that there is no need for an infant insert. At one month old (10lbs) I'm still stuffing the bottom of the carrier with baby blankets in order to prop up and pad the interior for my infant. Like me, he is swimming inside the carrier. His head never seems fully supported without me either holding or carefully positioning and repositioning him. Seasonal Carrier - This carrier may be 'lighter' than others on the market, but it is still heavy and hot during the summer. I definitely do not recommend this carrier.

Absolutely brilliant!
Great carrier! I've owned and tried quite a few and this is definitely the best, especially as you don't need an infant insert, it's a four position carrier and ergonomic. I was worried it would be a bit of a faff switching from a very simple sling but not at all. I can already feel the difference in my back! Great support and baby (3 months) seems just as comfortable and happy to go to sleep in this carrier as she was in the sling. Not too fiddly to get on, you just have to remember to hold baby in place as you undo the straps! Lovely lightweight fabric, perfect for these hot summer days. The clips were the only problem I had initially as they were sealed shut. Seems to be a problem that affects a small number of carriers and Slumberoo called me straight after I emailed to tell me how to fix them...use a spoon to click down the safety cap. Not a problem since. Would recommend both the carrier and the seller.

Love it
I spent ages looking for the right carrier and was so happy to find this one. My baby is comfortable and safe sitting in it, and it’s also comfortable for me. I also do have a large chest area so was relived to find this fitted, as I kept having problems with the fit of other carriers. It’s pretty easy to learn how to use it too.
