BioAdvanced 701100A 2 In 1 Rose Fertilizer and Flower Care Systemic Granules II Insect Killer, 5-Pound

I had previously purchased the Bayer 2-in1 systemic in a 10 lb. jug in 2024 and ordered this 5 lb. jug this spring (2025). I thought I was purchasing the exact same product, but was surprised to find that the chemical formulations are completely different, as well as the dosing instructions. The 10 lb. jug product's dose was 1/2 cup per rose bush, every 6 weeks. This 5 lb. jug's instructions are 1 capful per rose bush (2 oz.) every 8 weeks. My advice is to READ THE LABEL to find out which product you are dealing with. Other than that, I think the product does a great job with controlling thrips and aphids, which are the main problems where I live. I also make sure my roses get a lot of compost, fish emulsion, and organic nutrients as well, in order to combat the potential harsh effects of the chemicals.

This a is a very effective product by a proven brand. I have an large plant collection and most of the specimens in my collection was infested with spider mites and/or aphids along with two different species of scale, and by using this product was the only way I was able to get ahead of the situation! Not to mention the price was way cheaper than the big box stores in my area. 5stars!

I purchased this product in hopes of preventing the annual bug infestation to my roses. I used as directed, and the bugs are not as bad as they usually are on the roses. However, I also noticed that the blooms only last a day or two after using this product on them. They seem to burn/dry up and die very quickly, so I’m not getting to enjoy my beautiful flowers for long this year. In the past I used sprays versus the pellets that you sprinkle over the soil, and this worked well, except you’d have to keep applying frequently. With the granules, you don’t have to apply as frequently, so it is more convenient, but you’re sacrificing the blooms for the overall health of the plant/leaves. Also, after using, the buds are MUCH smaller than normal and sometimes they don’t even open all the way— like half of the bud dies before it opens. So I ended up with several half dead blooms— literally: half of the bloom is dried up and dead and the other half is alive and well. I think, moving forward, I may pre-treat the shrubs before they start to bloom. Overall, this product helps with the bugs, so technically it does “work”. But I’m not thrilled with the results. I’m not NOT recommending it.

I have been using this product for a long time. My mom had beautiful roses. I use it on my trees to keep leaf hoppers from destroying all the leaves.

I can see the difference. My roses are constantly blooming and no sine of leaf spot or bugs.

Florida is not Rose country, but I sprinkle this product every week on the ground of the roses. they bloom so much and beautiful, I also make sure I water everyday. This product makes my flowers and roses bloom their best in Florida on the heat.

I really like this fertilizer. It is an essential part of my rose care. However, the child proof top is ONE BIG PAIN to get open! I have been using this product for several years. A definite bonus as far as quality and price. I remember from last year, that the child proof top seemed a little harder to remove than in previous years. Decided it was just my age last year, 75, and the fact that perhaps my fingers and hands don't quite have the strength they used to have. But this year? What in the world happened? I tried and tried to remove the top. No luck. My husband tried and tried to remove the top. No luck. Finially, he sawed away at the top; but it still remained intact. Another round of sawing the top, plus hammering a screwdriver into the top did the trick. I am all in favor of child proof caps; but give me a break. Maybe this company should start using plastic bags with zipper tops or giving older consumers the choice of a child proof lid or not. I may try another brand next year that comes in a plastic bag. This was ridiculous!!!!
