Got side swiped by a hit and run driver on my 2003 Harley FLSTFI, mucked up my existing forward controls. All damage was cosmetic, twisted the existing controls. No frame, brake line, now engine damage. I purchased these Tarazon forward controls. Finally got around to installing once I was sufficiently healed. The master cylinder locks up the back brakes after just a few miles. Fortunately you can feel the rear breaks starting to drag and slow down the bike so you can get out of traffic. The bike will literally come to a complete locked up stand still. At 600+ pounds, you are not going to push the bike out of traffic. After several minutes the pressure will bleed off on its own and you can safely move your bike, or you can relieve pressure by opening the brakes bleeder, but no more rear brakes until you bleed them again. Mind you I have been riding, building and customizing bikes for 30+ years, I know how the brakes work, how to bleed them, how to ensure safety. As it has been over a year since purchase, I reached out to Tarazon for support. Note I say support, not replacement, not requesting parts, or anything free - just support. Their response was simply contact Amazon. Literally no factory support from Tarazon. I would have been happy to purchase a replacement master cylinder if that was the resolution as I really didn't want to just throw away these brand new Tarazon forward controls. In the trash they go. I would not purchase another Tarazon product and I would encourage you to take heed and not make the same mistake I did. Spend a little more, get a much better product. You will ride with more comfort with one less thing to worry about.

I got the 84-99 set after ordering 00-16? set first by mistake. 00 set was countersunk for mounting holes and threaded for the 4 jiffy stand bolts. Reordered, got the correct mount bracket hole pattern, this wasn't countersunk. The jiffy stand bolt holes aren't threaded. Had to buy all new bolts, and add nuts to mount jiffy stand. Harder to put on jiffy stand because have to back up the nuts now.The build quality is there as far as the controls, and beats the 800+ bucks a direct replacement for my old controls would run me. My bike is a special construction, so it's a mix of different years & manufacturers (S&S 110 inch engine, 5 spd LH drive belt, Rivera Primo 3 inch open belt drive).Didn't mount the right side yet, will need to get braided brake line made since my master cylinder is remote from the pedal.

I order this for a 1995 FXD it did not fit but when it was delivered and I checked it out it was well made and nice looking I was so upset it did not fit but I reach out to the company and they exsplain that it will fit some FXD and they sent me a return tag and refund me my money it was great dealing with themPlease make one for my 1995 FXD

The build is OK. Master cylinder works but the top seal leaks at the screws. Fixed with some ingenuity but be aware of the possibility. The color is nice, hardware was replaced with grade 8, don't really trust the stuff that came with and I went standard rather than metric to avoid more than the 10mm coming with me in tool roll;) alignment was good, shorter reach than what I was running but worked out nicely overall. Using shifter as clutch I had to extend footpeg as it was too close, but the adjustment was there to make this work. So, overall pretty good for the stupid cheap price. If you want show quality etc then buy that, this won't do that for you. If you want inexpensive option to run on daily skoot then sure it works out fine... TNJR

was ok, but shifter bushing worn out already and makes shifting gears hard

It was used for my shift linkage,but because of foot pad mounting plates, couldn't use plates that came with kit,also the shifter arms needed a set screw added to keep from sliding off and coming loose,but extra locking screw fixed problem,I love the look and quality of this product.

It's as pictured. Doesn't come with mounting hardware. so I haven't been able to mount them. I didn't read the fact that TARAZON Polished Forward Controls Foot pegs for 2006 Harley Softail FLSTF needs a 84-99 FXST kickstand. I did find one. Had some scratches but they will buff out. Other than all stated the Forward controls look good in the box. I'll post back when I find some mounting hardware or I decide to send them back. Ride On

Can’t go wrong for the price

Nice looking forward controls and good quality for the price. The foot pegs should be longer. It takes effort to keep your feet on them on the highway especially when wearing boots. If you're running and open belt primary, I'd reccomend tucking your pant leg into your boot. An extra inch would have made a big difference.
