The dataset suggested by the author is nowhere to be found from the website. In other words, the data set is oytdated.

Book came fast and is helpful

This book helped me perform my data analysis for my education dissertation. Outstanding book. Muijs covers all of the basics, and gets into some advanced topics.Overall a great SPSS resource book. Highly recommend.

Clearly written, and an easier read than many research or statistics books. Very clear instructions on using SPSS.

Very informative; however, the author has made a mistake in chapter 9. In creating dummy variables for local authority schools (COE), the only way I could get the same output as demonstrated by the author on page 152, is to actually make a dummy variable for state schools (though the author labelled it "COE"). That was confusing for me.
