Trader Joe'sCornbread Stuffing Mix 12.4Oz(352g)

After years of shopping at my favorite grocer (Trader Joes) I moved to a rural area over 100 miles from the nearest TJs. I ordered for the first time the cornbread mix and even though the outside boxes were torn, the package of mix inside was intact. The recipe on the box did not include the amount of mix - the internet told me to use the contents of the box and how to spice up the overly sweet cornbread. Love, love Trader Joes and will order this again but will add some cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes, plus cheese and a can of mild green chilies.

Just ordered my sixth box! Price is a bit high but we'll worth it in taste and my wife's enjoyment while eating it. Low in carbs unless she eats the whole box!

The cornbread mixes that I received were NOT 'Trader Joes' traditional mix but were 'Baker Josefs' a gluten-free equivalent also sold by Trader Joe's. . The seller really should change the product image to reflect reality. The first ingredient in the traditional mix is corn flour. In the gluten-free mix it is sugar. Because of this the 'Baker Josef' cornbread is VERY sweet. The texture seems somewhat off.. Not unpalatable, but not what you would expect compared with the traditional mix. This is not a negative review, just an informative one.

I have mixed feelings about this product.Pros:-- It has no MSG, which is great because MSG makes some people have headaches or general irritability.-- It has no carrageenan [mainstream peer-reviewed medical journal published studies consistently show that ingesting carrageenan causes significant internal inflammation-- in fact, lab animals are given carrageenan to make their joints inflamed and painful in order to test proposed new arthritis drugs for whether they improve the arthritis-like symptoms; many foods have added carrageenan from ice cream to some rotisserie chicken-- including some stuffing mixes]Cons:-- I am disappointed that all the seasonings are already on the cubes of bread. I prefer to dial-back the level of sage and salt, so I prefer seasoning packets that allow me to use less of the spice ingredients. I hope Trader Joe's converts to using spice packets, because this is a deal-breaker for me for an otherwise stellar product.In any case, thanks Trader Joe's for making some of your products available through Amazon-- please make all of them available for those of us not not living near a Trader Joe's store.

This stuffing held together pretty decently. The flavor was also good.

I bought this because there is not anything questionable in the mix. Most boxes of stuffing have hydrogenated oil in them. This tasted pretty good for a boxed stuffing, I still prefer homemade, but it has a great taste for something quick.

This is a fantastic corn bread base - I like to add a can of corn, a small can of chopped peppers and dried ground chipotle pepper to mine to dress it up. I also use Egg Replacer instead of eggs as we are a vegan household. When made this way, the corn bread is super-moist and gets devoured quickly! The thing I am not in love with is the dried corn kernels that come in the mix - they don't seem to fully re-hydrate in the baking process and end up a bit chewy.

I love this stuff, but it appeared someone kicked the package at some point, it was crushed & one box was leaking contents. Worse case of delivery I have ever seen :( Both boxes are mangled. If you want me to take a pic, I can, very disappointed
