I inherited an old vetch system from a friend, which required a 9V adaptor as printed on the back. I went to the vetch site and all they had was a 7.5 volt, and it didn't mention anything about working on 9V. So I spent time searching for an old 9V and found this one, so I purchased it. What I received was the white 7.5 adaptor just like the vetch web site. On the package it says it works for both voltages, and that is true I guess (I've only used it twice), but it isn't what I thought I was buying, so I could have found this cheaper. Maybe this is why it doesn't last as other reviews have suggested.

I've only owned this for a few months, and have only used it a handful of times in that time. That being said, I was relieved to discover that it actually did as promised. I've purchased replacement cords and accessories for products a few times from companies outside the product's manufacturer, and have been disappointed in the past. This cord fits perfectly, is the correct voltage and such, and I haven't had any problems with it. It is shorter than the original cord, which required some rearranging of our media center setup, but it's long enough to work in most TV stands/entertainment centers, I'd think.

We got this this to use with our son's V Reader. If we plug the V Reader into this adapter and try to turn it on, we might have to reset the V Reader multiple times to get the V Reader to actually turn on. However, the V Reader will turn on during the first try if we are using the car adapter or batteries. We purchased a replacement adapter, thinking the original was defective. The new one had the same problems. However, we did discover a way around it. If you have batteries in the V Reader, you can turn the V Reader on and then you can connect the adapter. After that, the adapter will power the V Reader instead of the batteries.

I think writing down a review should be optional. Just like how it used to be. I just want to give a couple of stars, clear my order history and get on with the rest of my day. Got the item as described, what can you say about an AC adapter? I plugged it in, it works, my kid stays the hell off of my iPhone because they have power for their innotab and balance is restored to the universe. My husband and I bought our 5 year old granddaughter a VTech Reader for Christmas and she was going through batteries very quickly so I told my son that I would get the adapter for it. Now she can use it as much as she wants. I am told that it works very well. I have not seen it in action so I just have my son's word to go on. I think they had to use it with an extension cord so she could sit on the couch and use it.

I know these used to be in the stores for much cheaper when the v.reader was more popular, but now they are not. I suppose I could have gone to radio shack and tried to figure out which adapter fit to save some money, but we have already tried 3 and they didn't fit. for me this was worth the money in battery savings

My son received the VSmile V-Motion as a holiday gift. We went through batteries like crazy in the first week, to the point that purchasing this adapter was necessary. I find it ridiculous that the adapter costs half as much as the system itself. It should be included in the unit. We're happy to have it and my son enjoys playing with it.

I have a Vtech Innotab 3 and also a Vtech Innotab 3S and it works perfectly with both of them ! Very happy with my purchase !

As batteries run out quickly and are frustrating to the child when they do, this is a must. My grandson is thrilled he can now use his V-smile any time.

Exactly like the one that comes with it. Does what it’s supposed to. Found the original one after over a year right after we bought a new one. And kids were whining to play with the tablet non stop so I ordered the charger and they played with it for a day and are over it. Typical.
