Worked well for cat liquid med
My cat needs to take a medicine that cats generally hate the taste of. I tried giving it to him as a liquid and he hated it. So I wanted to try one of these empty capsules and he gobbled it up like it was a piece of food. The capsule is sturdy enough that it snaps shut and when the cat bit down on it, it didn’t burst open in his mouth which I was worried about. There wasn’t a negative taste or the taste of the med seeping through, he was not phased by the taste at all. Not all cats will just eat pills like mine does, but this is an amazing way to disguise the taste of pills or liquid med. It is a bonus that this size 4 capsule holds .5ml of liquid and isn’t as big as I expected for that much liquid. This will definitely be an easy, cost-effective way to make cat meds a little bit easier for me.

Pet Meds Magic!
Unbelievably wonderful idea that needs to be recommended to cat parents and all pet parents really. This has been a lifesaver to give my cat Benadryl Benadryl without the coating could just make him foam at the mouth if he tasted even a granule of the cut side. This was with pill pockets already. Now I just cut 1/4 pill and drop it into these capsules, wrap a pill pocket around it and done deal. If you have ever had a nightmare of giving your four legged babies meds please try these. The size is awesome.

Good Alternative to Give a Cat a Pill
I am using these empty gel capsules to give my elderly cat his nasty-tasting metronidazole pill, plus prednisone and cyproheptadine. These size 4 capsules are TINY (smaller than a dime; see Photo #1) and are hard to handle, but unfortunately, it's necessary because the pills need to be small for the cat. I'm able to get 1/2 of a 50mg metronidazole pill, plus EITHER 1/2 of a 5mg prednisone pill OR 1/2 of a 4mg cyproheptadine pill. I started out just putting the split pills into the capsule (left and right pills in Photo #2), but then decided to see if I could get all three meds in by crushing them all into a powder (center pill in Photo #2). I was able to get MOST, but not all of the crushed 3-pill powder in the capsule. I did try tamping the powder down, but it didn't help much. If you try to put powder in these pills, be aware that it is very difficult. The openings are tiny, and the capsules are nearly transparent when they're empty, so they're hard to see. I made a little pill holder out of cardboard to hold the pills (Photo #3), although it isn't a great solution. You can see an empty capsule on the right, and a partially-filled one on the left. Photo #4 shows the tip of a ball point pen as a reference for the size of the opening. All in all, this was a good purchase, as my cat no longer foams at the mouth from the metronidazole. And since he's (relatively) happy, then I'm happy too. No issues with quality control on the batch that I received, bought in May 2022.

Easy to use; perfect size for a cat.
The capsules were easy to open, fill, and close. You can easily tell the top from the bottom once separated. They fit just under 1/16 tsp of a fine powder (not packed down). I used this to give my cat a powdered medicine that was too bitter for her. I could tell from her lack of reaction that it hid the taste. It was a good size for her. I wouldn't try anything larger for her. They become sticky once wet and can start to come apart if you have trouble with a cat spitting them out instead of swallowing them. But that's typical of all capsules from my experience. Just a fair warning to not try too many times with one capsule if it won't go down.

Tiny capsules. Nearly impossible to fill
Honestly, it’s been like working in a fairy factory. It’s so hard to put any type of powder supplements into these capsules. Also because they’re so small you need to fill more capsules to get the same amount as a regular sized capsule. It’s a very difficult task.

Successful for cat pilling
These have been nothing but perfect so far in quality. They come partway coupled so you can easily get them apart (but plenty snug enough so they don't just come apart on their). When you close them after filling, there is a "click" or ridge that you can feel when the halves are totally together. I got these for the sake of pilling my cat without forcing the bitterness of the split caplets on him and to keep dosage accurate - the split pieces kept crumbling. Yes, it was generally easier for the small while we could just toss the caplet chunk alone in, but there's more of a choking risk and it was obvious the taste was awful, to say nothing of the crumbling. However, with the gel capsules it's not much more trouble, and even though it might take a second try sometimes, it's obviously less "traumatizing" on my cat - especially compared to any second attempts with the plain caplet. As a human, I can attest to gel capsules having an innocuous flavor, plus they get slicker with saliva, opposed to caplets which get chalkier and stickier. This is for an adult cat - for kitten, I think it'd be pretty rough. I'd have preferred to get a size 5 capsule, but I'm glad I didn't - the caplet doses would not have fit inside. I'll by these again when they run out but that'll be something like a couple years from now! Can't beat that value. My bag's expiration is January 2021, so no worries there either. Good luck, pet owners! It's a solid bet.

Great for stubborn, small dogs!!
Our sweet little (8.5 lbs) almost 13-year-old dog was diagnosed with incontinence. She was prescribed a pill that she HATES the taste of. We tried hiding it in every food you can imagine, and she could always smell/taste it and would spit it out. After searching the internet for help, someone suggested grinding up the pill and putting it in tiny capsules like these. I immediately ordered some and we have been using them for a little over a week with SUCCESS!!!! I can't tell you how relieved I have been. It takes a little work to get the powder in the capsule, but it is well worth it. We then put a little cheese around the capsule and a little chicken stuck to that and she has been taking it. I highly recommend for stubborn dogs who can smell/taste a pill. These have been amazing!

Bought the capsules after having a real time trying to give a super picky cat meds in her canned food or by syringe. One thing she isn't picky about thank gawd are pill pockets.. After wrapping a bit of pill pocket over the capsule, she takes the meds no problem.

I use these to give my cat liquid Atopica and they work amazingly well. The #4 capsule holds a liquid dose for a 2.5kg cat. If your cat is larger I’d go up to the #3. The capsule is small enough for her to swallow. Just be sure to get it deep into their throat because it gets sticky. If you can, try to do a syringe of water right after the pill or coat it in something gooey. I pre-fill a bunch of capsules and they don’t seem to melt until it hits her tongue. If you’re struggling with Atopica, I like I was… It was devastating… or any other bitter medication, then get these capsules. They work.

Excellent to pop my cats tablets into without her being able to detect them in her food.

I’m sharing this for anyone struggling to give medications to their furry companions—especially cats, who are notoriously sensitive to smell and taste, and often reject bitter pills. These capsules have been a game changer. They effectively mask both the smell and taste of the medication. I tucked them into a squeeze-tube treat, and my cat didn’t detect a thing. After my cat was diagnosed with HCM, administering his blood thinner and heart medication was a daily struggle. I tried every trick in the book for over a week with no success—until I discovered these capsules. Since then, giving him his meds has been a breeze. I ordered a “size 4” pack (i.e., the smallest on the chart size) and using a pill splitter, split the whole pill into quarters for his daily dosage.

These work well when splitting medication into lower amounts.
