Unexpected Excellent Performance
I purchased this to use after my 8-months old dog chewed through the coax to my outside antenna. Thought I’d use this until she gets out of the chewing stage.I really wasn’t expecting much, because I was used to the performance that an outside discone antenna provides. After all, this is just a “rubber ducky” antenna, right? Well, I was very much mistaken!I paired this antenna with my Uniden Bearcat SDS-200. Most of the frequencies I listen to are in the 700 and 800mhz range. This is the frequency ranges that this antenna was designed for - and excels at receiving. The manufacturer states this antenna provides a +6dB gain and the performance I receive seems to verify that. It’s designed for the 700 - 900 MHz frequency range. Other frequencies are not as well handled by this antenna, but if your listening needs meet what this antenna is designed for you’ll not be disappointed. HUGE increase in performance over the factory metal antenna. Highly recommend.

Very disappointed. Performs poorly.
I purchased the REMTronix REM-830B BNC Antenna to hopefully improve reception on a few P25 Systems in my area. I am very disappointed. The antenna performs more poorly on 800MHz than my stock antennas, and unlike some of my other 800MHz antennas that work fairly well on 400MHz UHF band, this antenna is very poor below 700MHz. The antenna performs so poorly, I think it may be defective.

Significantly Improved Reception
This item was purchased for use on a Uniden SDS200 scanner to replace the stock antenna which came with the unit. Drawing on experience with the Remtronix antenna for the Uniden BCD436HP (the REM-810S) which vastly improved reception, the REM-830B did not disappoint. Simple to install in seconds, systems not previously heard on the SDS200 (but routinely monitored on the BCD436HP) immediately sprang to life. This is a "must have" for any SDS200 user without an outdoor antenna.

REMTronix REM-830B UHF BNC Antenna Screams Performance
This antenna does a fantastic job on reception! Hands down it performs better than the OEM collapsible antenna included with scanner radios. It performs just as well if not better than an outdoor antenna connected to my Bearcat SDS 200 Scanner. Actually seems to be more sensitive out-beating my outdoor antenna. I highly recommend giving it a try. You will not be disappointed!

Works great, I'm able to pick up a lot more signals with this.
After trying a different after market antenna, I tried this one, I works quite well and I am able to pick up quite a few more signals. I can even pick up some of the stronger VHF signals with it! I was quite surprised. I still would recommend a dedicated VHF scanner if your looking to listen to both VHF and Digital. (That's what I do anyway, or change the antenna as needed for listening.)

It just Works
Compared to the stock antenna this picks up the 800mhz band better. It is deaf on the VHF but that's to be expected. If you want to pick up more digital signals this is worth the purchase.

Skip it!
Save your money. It’s cheaply made. Rubber will separate if it bends too much. It’s awful in VHF. Company never responded to me. It’s all hype.

Good performance
Works great with my SDS100. It out performs my 11 inch Watson antenna when scanning the 800mghz range.
