Works as advertised
This board does what it is supposed to do. It will capture video transmitted up to 1080i, 60fps, which it writes to a file as 1080p, 30 fps.The capture software has a straightforward interface and seems to work fine. My only complaint is that if I schedule a recording, once that recording starts it cannot be cancelled. Even if I exit the program and restart it, the recording session resumes and continues until the specified end time.I record college football games from my DVR. The games typically last around 3.5 hours and result in large MPEG4 files--25GB for CBR (constant bit rate), 50GB for VBR (variable bit rate). If you're going to do this, buy a big USB drive to store the files.

Good product
Works great. The only negative is that the window will not move or resIze. It sits right in the middle of the screen and you can't drag it to the side or resize it.

Great card for school athletic event recording!!!
The DVI to HDMI adpt sent with card wouldn't pass sound to the card but I had 1 that would. Notified StarTech of the problem and they were goingto make sure that the rest of them work before shipping any more. Be aware in-case they miss one or two. The GE adpt from Walmart works fine.Other than that, If you want to record and playback stop frame action like a school football game and want to catch each little movement, 60fps is the way to go.The same goes for gymnastics. It's easy to show the kids what they did and how they can improve their movements.

This One Didn't Fit in my Tower Case
I really can't say anything good about this product. Granted, some of my trouble with it came from inexperience with video production hardware (such as finding out by new experience that there is some fidelity loss in converting HDMI to DVI, which is what you have to do in order to connect an HDMI camera to this card), but the improper cutting of the silicone board was definitely not my error. With the card properly seated in my motherboard's PCI-E socket, the mounting hardware wouldn't line up with the tower case's anchor point. If I lined it up and put the screw in, anchoring the card to the tower case, the contacts on the card wouldn't quite line up with the contacts on in the socket, and it would either pick up a dodgy signal from the camera or not at all. To give credit to the vendor, though, they did give me a full refund for a defective product, even though I was past the returning period when I figured the problem out.Granted, not every card is going to be improperly cut like this one, but I feel like you can probably do better. Give it a few years and, like the cheap Plextor product I replaced, there will probably be no drivers available for this card. It looks like cheap, throw-away manufacture to me.

Better than the Black Magic card.....
I replaced my BlackMagic card with this, and it is far better. Bravo!

Great recording quality
This has some pros and cons, but if you like the pros it's a very good card!info:this is card that is made by Yon High Tech. The same exact card is found under the Yon High Tech name here: Yuan High-Tech SC512N1-L DVI 1CH DVI Software Compression H.264 Capture Card . And it's under the Micomsoft name with a daughter card for video out here: SC-512N1-LDVI HD capture card by Micomsoft what you get in the box:-pci express capture card card-regular profile and low profile brackets-component breakout cable that includes RCA red and white stereo sound-composite and S-Video breakout cable that includes RCA red and white stereo sound-HDMI to DVI adapter-VGA to DVI adapter-manual-CD disk with driver (I didn't use--I downloaded the latest right away from the website)-box and packingpros:-super low latency and locks onto a signal super fast! I have had no issues with dropped frames. I've had no issues locking onto the signal. It's a work horse!-the analog inputs are high quality. You can't get more than what exists, but I put an old home movie through the composite input and got as good a picture as you're going to get... I tried a SNES and it really is some of the best composite recording I've seen!-There's a lot of settings that you can tweak. If you're someone who likes playing with settings, there is a lot of fun to be had...-driver is fully directshow compatible. The included software is ok, but there are a lot more options. You might look into AmaRecTV.cons:-since the actual port is DVI, you can't record sound through your HDMI connection. The only sound recording option on the card is rca stereo. You can record using your computer's audio card for the recording part.-only software compression. You're not going to be able to do real time compression without a decent computer. I can't tell you what you need since I've only tried it in my fast workstation (xeon 1650v3). I'm not having any problems with it, but if you have a good machine, you'll want a card with hardware encoding. My guess is that an i5 is probably about the minimum that you'll want, but again, I'm not really sure since I've used one computer with it.-It doesn't record from protected signals. If your digital signal has HDCP, you won't be able to plug directly into the card and have the card record. Conclusion:I love this card! I definitely feel that the quality of the output is the best I'll get anywhere near this price. It's just really good. The one I got is marked N1-L DVI REV:1.4

No joy.
I think it may have been a compatibility problem. This device never worked once, in my new XMS 8900 computer.

Quality video capture
Expensive for what it is, but excellent quality... Accepts any input I throw at it and captures without dropped/repeated frames. Works with any DirectShow capture software, so you may want to use something better than the included software.

Buena capturadora mal software
Lo conecte a una PC y se graban bien los vídeos, lo único malo a destacar es que el software de grabación es un poco anticuado, esta hecho en Flash y no puedes mover lo de posición.
