Short and Easy Spanish Novels for Beginners (Bilingual Edition: Spanish-English): Learn Spanish by Reading Stories of Suspense and Horror

This is more like a children's book than anything I would consider a "short novel". There are only about 10 sentences per page and they are mostly very short sentences. It's 140 pages, but that's only 70 if you consider that there's a Spanish and English version of each page, so it's just not very much content for the price. There are awkward and clunky translations throughout. In addition, it's just full of errors. On nearly every page there are at least a few small errors such as missing spaces, but also some typos like "LLightning". There are also grammatical errors like "Lightning illuminate the room" instead of "Lightning illuminates the room".Overall, I would say it is an interesting way to learn and I understand the need for short, simple sentences and not much plot in a book for language learners. But with all the errors and clunky writing, it's just not worth the price.

I really appreciated that it was beginner Spanish level and not intended for young children.By the second novel, i feel myself reading so much quicker! I would definitely recommend, and I look forward to reading more.

As far as I can tell it's great. I'm a beginner though so idk how accurate it is. There could be errors, so I'll do my best to check as I read.The chapters are very short, and at the end of the book there are comprehension questions with answers.I look forward to using this book to learn.I only have it 4 stars because I don't know enough spanish to definitely give it 5 stars.

These are great/fun/scary stories, and a tremendous learning tool! My favorite I've found so far anywhere. I highly recommend. Don't hesitate.

Fun interesting stories. Easy to follow along even though I didn't know all the words. I highly recommend them as a first Spanish book.

As a beginning adult Spanish language learner, it's hard to find interesting stories to read that go beyond the "see Spot run" level. These two short novels are fun to read, and keep your interest in the plot. The horror genre is great.

It is more interesting than the other short stories and children’s books I have read while learning Spanish. I like that English translations appear after each short chapter. Highly recommend.

I'm fairly low level but this was written to help me ease into extended reading. I used a dictionary just every so often. I learned useful new expressions and saw new grammar I hadn't studied before. I felt the book was really helping my Spanish. Thank you!

True beginner book but still trying to make the stories fun for teens/adults. I like horror so this was perfect for me. Short sentences. 2 page chapters double spaced. Words used in repetition to assist learning. Loses a star because some words didn't get precisely translated into English, my Colombian friends says - but maybe its Mexico n or spain colloquialism. Idk.

Good to learn vocabulary, intriguing story-line, minor errors in the book.
