The Best Bug Parade (MathStart 1)

I love reading these books in my classroom before moving into the actual lesson.

This is a great book for an end K or 1st grade reader to read themselves or to teach them about comparison. My advanced K kid will read it perfectly by himself. Also something that isn’t a typical book you find in a classroom

This is a nice math starter to understand big ,biggest and small. Very cute pictures also. My son loves this book.

The book has no plot, its just a ladybug comparing to others in order to use the -er and -est endings on descriptive words. Then they make a parade of all those bugs. Not great and not terrible, just kinda blah. Like dinosaur parade book better but it did not teach the -er and -est endings. I could have lived without this book.

Great book for teaching math concepts.

My 3 yo already loves this book. It shows him exactly what I was hoping it would: differences in size. It starts out with Small, going through to smallest, then big, then long, and finally short. It's great. I recommend it for any younger child learning these concepts.I am planning on getting the rest of the Math Start books, now.

This has been my 7 month old baby's favourite book for the last 3 months. Odd. I think he just loves the pictures of the bugs and the simple repetitive language. H's made me read it 100s of times. Literally. I'm not sure it would hold an older child's interest, hence the 4 stars, but if you have a baby, give it a try!

Great book, my 3 year old loves it. My 5 year old even likes it. Book in great condition and arrived before expected delivery date. Very pleased.

We have most of the MathStart books. They are simply fantastic! Mr. Murphy has a knack for simplifying the concept for little kids and the illustrations are very striking. We read a new one every week and read it once a day (an idea borrowed from a friend).The books also have some activities that go with the concept.
