A necessity given the Pi 4's excessive heat in the official case.

I have a Pi3 which runs plane spotting software in my garden shed in South Texas, so you can believe that the ambient temperature is pretty high. I would not have been able to run it 24x7 for the last year if it were not for the exceptional case/heatsink that I bought from iUniker here on Amazon. So when I finally got a Pi4 for Christmas and discovered that even indoors and idle, in the official Pi Foundation case, it was running at 76C (168F) and the wifi was consistently failing, I realised it was time to get another of these heatsinks. I got the fan version (now branded as MazerPi though I believe it is the same company that was iUniker), and after a couple of days of 24x7 running, it is staying steady at 42C and I have working wifi again. The Pi Foundation ought to be ashamed of themselves for selling this Pi4 that won't even run reliably in the official case (and that was in my 71F air-conditioned house, not my garden shed where the temperature reaches 100+ at times). It's fortunate that there are third-party cases that correct their overheating problems. Make no mistake, this is a heatsink and a fan rather than a case. It won't keep the dust out - there are plenty of exposed openings - what it does and does well is circulate the hot air away and keep your Pi4 running reliably.Only one small warning in assembling the case: the supplied thermal tape is easily broken and not very sticky, so separate it from its backing carefully (on both sides) and apply carefully. Other than that minor caveat, this is a nicely engineered all-metal case/heatsink and definitely worth the investment to save your expensive Pi4 from an early heat death.

Best raspberry case I've ever purchased

I've been collecting and tinkering with raspberry pi's since they were first introduced. I've owned every single iteration and have purchased or made dozens of cases for each. This is, hands down, the best case I've ever had the pleasure of using on an rpi. The fans are almost silent, the case cools the entire system, and while looks aren't the most important thing for my use cases, this case is incredibly sexy. I'd honestly pay twice the price for a case this nice. Heck I HAVE paid twice this price for cases in the past that pale in comparison. Kudos to the manufacturer. Well worth the investment!

It’s good but make sure it fits your application

It was a quality defense in the some applications of RPI. The fans being active cooler and the aluminum bottom and top I figured more people would have incorporated this case in the designing of other accessories. Noise level isn’t an issue, especially with the great fit and look with the affordable price and accessibility to RPI I don’t see why it wasn’t more popular option with display cases.

Cools well, good instructions

Ultimately performance matters and this case keeps my Pi 4 at barely above room temperature.Nice clear instructions with pictures. I liked that extra screws and thermal pads were provided along with an allen wrench. assembly was easy. The bottom plate protects the underside of the Pi but does note help with cooling as it does not make contact. The case allows for the camera cable to exit easily which was a must for me. Fans are quiet at time of install.

37 degrees C! ON HEAVY LOAD!!!

So 1. as a protective case, this really is amazing. Just keep in mind that the SD Card is not accessible once you put the case on.That said, it comes with 2 sets of thermal tapes, which actually work great as I had no issues putting the first set on. That being said, the only thing about this case I would call a "complaint" is it's inability to mount it to anything. You'll need to by longer screws for the bottom if you plan to also mount this to a bigger case or bracket to put somewhere else based on your use case. That being said with the case on, putting this under load in a Pi cluster with 4 Pi Zero W's and a full Apache Web Server LAMN (Linux Apache, MongoDB and Node.JS) stack and connected to 5TB of data and having it commit almost all it has to the job of indexing, sorting, etc. the MongoDB DB with 5TB of documents, the maximum temperature it reached was 37 degrees C. Normal operating temperature stand alone without load is almost 24 degrees. cAverage temp in general use is 28 degrees using it as a general desktop. Given the fact room temperature during these tests were 20.1 degrees C (70 degrees F)The heat dissipation was phenomenal, and this case was cold to the touch for me.

The fans are cheap trash

Worked great for about a year, and then the fan bearings started to make noise. The fans are poor quality and not easily replaced due to the non-standard size. I think there may have been revisions, but my version has two fans as a single 20mmx10mm-ish rectangle. The metal case also seems to interfere with WiFi/bluetooth range/quality. Do yourself a favor and get a traditional plastic case with a large fan (e.g. 40mm) so you can inevitably swap the fan with a noctua when the bearings start grinding.

Compact, well made - but no provision for mounting

Too soon to tell if the fans hold up, but the case is flawless: solid aluminum, fits perfect, with good fitment between the heatsink & pads, and you can't beat the price. Only complaint: there's no provision for mounting the thing! You can't replace the screws with spacers, since the fins prevent turning the typical 2.5mm standoff. I designed a simple mount, it's on thingiverse (search for Pi-4 armor case mount).

Fans included are terrible and hard to replace.

First, the case works out of the box, I was able to overclock my pi and kept it icy cool. HOWEVER; The fan they include is pretty terrible, it's a 25x50mm dual fan. Going by user review photos some are separate, some one unit, either way it's very difficult to replace, and judging by the reviews, has a very high failure rate. after a few months, the fan started making more and more noise, I could tap the fans and get them to quit making noise for a bit, but as the months wore on, the fans got louder and were harder to get to stop making noise, after 5 months they emit a loud buzzing noise no matter what I do, and are probably on the brink of total failure. I've now given up replacing them, I'm just buying a fanless heatsink setup and mounting my own fan on top, I recommend you do the same.
