Samsung CY-SWR1100 Simultaneous Dual-N-Band Wireless Router

I have wireless at home and an attached apt for extra income. When my wife is in that apt. Cleaning or decorating and she has her iPad,she's not able to pick up the wireless signal and now that I have a new Smart TV I've read that the regular router don't prioritize the wireless signals and your streaming to your Smart TV isn't that Smart!(smile) you won't always get a prioritized signal in other words! Nor will your other wireless devices! The solution is to up-grade your modem/router system to handle the increase traffic of wireless signals! This purchase for me was the 1st stage of this up-grade and according to all the tech reviews I've read:"this is the bomb",once you place this router within one foot of your Smart TV to initialize the set up and get the signal started,you can then move the ROUTER anywhere in the room--sweet!! I gave this device a four star because of all the excellent reviews I have read. I have yet to test it personally myself. When I do,I will give an up-date and change my rating! Lastly,the price was fantastic:$28 couldn't be touched anywhere online!! The cheapest the "home shopping " channels had was around $150!! With price points like this I will always recommend Amazon to others and I will always spend my money there! Thanks Amazon!

As other reviewers have already noted, this is indeed a D-Link router with a Samsung logo attached to it. That being said, it is a dual-band wireless N router with a lot of horsepower behind it. Its current sub-$40 price (as of this writing) is a tremendous bargain compared to other dual-band routers. If you're familiar with D-Link's user interface then you'll be right at home with this. I was able to get it set up and running in relatively short order.Interesting side note: The router's native DNS settings have consistently tested faster on Namebench than Google DNS, OpenDNS, etc.

.After reading the two very negative reviews on this site I was apprehensive about buying this router. After reading these reviews a second time I determined these folks either did not read the complete instructions provided on the included DVD or they were not computer literate. .One fellow was shocked to find out a router requires a power cord.I am very pleased with this router and had no trouble installing it and getting it to work with my Samsung SmartTV.When I did have one minor problem - I sent an email to Samsung Support and received an answer within 24 hours. I think it was great service.

BUYER BEWARE!!! Just opened this and hooked it up two months ago. Worked great for those two months. DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE! All LED indicator lights work properly indicating I should be able to connect to the internet. I double checked my modem by directly connecting my computer to rule out a modem issue. I reset the router to factory defaults and tried to set it up again. That did not work. I reset all of my devices. That did not work. Needless to say, I spent the last three hours troubleshooting the issue unsuccessfully. And the manual is a joke when it comes to troubleshooting this router!!! I tried to update the firmware, but discovered that the firmware has not been updated on the samsung website since 2006. Anyways, I give this a DO NOT BUY

Just like every other Router if you have Networking experience, otherwise it has Wizard to help. The distance, for me, is superb. Make sure you do a wi-fi search and change the Channel to one thats not being used - this will help with interference (clashing signals). If you didn't understand what I just wrote, don't worry - The Wizard will take you through steps and voila. Google: How to change channels on my router? <--- it's easy once you realize it.

I just received this item today and it is horrible. I used the setup disc and configured the router, but the setting won't save to the router. When the router boots up after the configuration it still broadcasts the old SSIDs with no encryption. I even tried to reset the router using the reset button in the beck and that didn't help at all. It won't even allow you to configure the router through a browser. Whenever I enter the IP address of the router into a browser window the connection is refused. Do not buy this!

IF YOU BUY THIS ROUTER YOU NEED TO CALL D-LINK FOR SET-UP 1-855-278-7678. WAS A REAL "B" TO SET-UP THIS IS SAMSUNG ROUTER DEPT. SAMSUNG REGULAR CUSTOMER DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PRODUCT. I REALLY DON'T RECOMMEND IT TOOK FAR TO LONG TO GET WORKING.

Fantastic price. Simply serves its purpose for Samsung tvs. Both smart, but 1 is older. (2015) and a lesser model.
