Worth every Dollar!!
Preface: My goal was for clear, clean sound reproduction, like the artist intended. I didn't buy this to shake the mirrors off the car, which it will vibrate them.I bought this to pair up with my Infinity 6829CF 2way speakers(4 of them) in my F150 extended cab. I used an MTX thunder500.1 amp for the subs and an MTX TD75.4 for the doors. I ran them through a Pac Add-On Amplifier Interface. I kept the factory headunit, and I couldn't be happier with my setup!!! For $700 total, inlcuding 2 sets uof NnuKoncepts amp kits, (8ga and 4ga) and various power couplers, it has made my truck sound like my home theater system(well almost). The Alpine Sub fit perfectly under my rear seat. It hits the lows without distortion and rebounds quickly. I highly suggest this setup if your looking for a great clean, clear system that won't break the bank!! I branched it off the rear channels and set my door amps for almost no bass. You do have to watch using the fader if you set it up this way.

Outstanding little sub, true to the Type-R name
I've gone 5 years now settling with door speakers because I didn't want a sub taking up space and thought my 2014 Jeep with 6x9s all around was okay for bass. I even put in a 5-channel amp (Pioneer GM-D9605) under the driver's seat and converted the rear doors to be sealed subs with Tangband W69-1042Js. The result is better than stock but not terribly impressive, since those subs are about a 7" equivalent with only 7mm xmax, and they rattle the doors.Fast forward, now I've got a longer commute and spend a lot more time driving, and I've been craving real bass again that door speakers just can't provide. I see the 8" Type-R with 12mm xmax that came out a few years back is now on sale in its own tiny ported box for $150. Good deal. With all of five minutes to wire in exchange for my in-door subs, boom, done. Impressive upgrade!! Way fewer rattles for much clearer sound, more SPL, and probably comparable for low end extension.I used to have a JL 8W7 (use it at home now; too big in cargo for my taste anymore). This SBR-S8-4/SWR-8 is no JL 8W7 monster, but it's a pretty direct conversion on "half the size for a half of the performance."

Nice little sub
Nice little sub I have it running off of a 600 watt alpine amp and it sounds decent you shouldn’t expect big sound from it but if your looking to add a little bass to your vehicle and don’t want to take much space at all this is perfect for that. I should clarify that I have mine in a Tacoma and the sound is just what I wanted and it fits in the compartment behind the seat without any modifying.

Ashamed of alpine.
The idea was to get a quality sound for my titan with little room. I hooked it up to my alpine amp and it sounded great, for 3 weeks. Today it just blew. Only running 300 watts to a sub with an arms rating of 500. I've had plenty of alpine products in the past, I'm more than shocked at this. Returning for a refund today.

Not huge bass, but a good well rounded sub
First thing, this sub breaks in more than any other speaker I have owned, so give it time before you make your decision. It isn't a 10" and I have to keep reminding myself of that. I have it in a minivan which might be asking a lot, but it does the job. Has nice low end and some surprising lows on occasion. Won't shake the car but can give you a headache if you decide to crank it up for any length of time with the amount of bass, Fairly well balanced. I like it, decently punchy and appropriately boomy when you want it. Fit and finish is nice. Not particularly small, but size is OK, it slides under my rear seats decently.

Big Bang Little Box! Deep Clear Base.
I recently installed a Pioneer AVH-X2600BT 2-DIN Multimedia DVD Receiver with 6.1 Inch WVGA Touch Screen Display and connected it to my Sony 1000 Watt Amp and 12'' Subwoofer enclosure and was not happy with the distortion level when it came to Bass. The box occupied a large portion of my cargo area in my Kia Sorrento. My installer suggested that I try the Alpine SBR-8 in a pre-loaded enclosure. It was low profile and ported but only an 8" subwoofer. So he hooked it up and I was impressed beyond belief with the sound that eminated from such a small space saving unit. His price was twice what I paid when I bought it here on AMAZON.COM. It only required me to connect two speaker wires to the terminals and I was ready to go!! I highly recommend this subwoofer for anyone who is interested in quality sound and minimal space consumption.

Good value, simple and easy to install
Great fit and finish, nice and compact, plug and play. Plays well for an 8" woofer, sounds good and gets reasonably loud but it's not gonna blow the doors off. I can't find anything I don't like about it, does what you expect and ask it too. Takes power like a boss as well.

It was a really great sub while it lasted
I bought this at the end of December. It's the first subwoofer I've ever bought so I went small and this little guy surprised me with how much bass it was able to produce. I had it in a Suburban and it was strong enough to pound hard. But then out of the blue it just gave up and quit on me about 3 months in. I had it hooked up to a 500W channel and I realize that I overdrove it. It's my fault it quit. It was a really great sub while it lasted.
