Israeli Security Concepts: A Comprehensive Guide For Selecting Training And Deploying A Security Team For Installation And Personnel Protection

Israeli Security Concepts is an all encompassing book which teaches/explains/details how to think/act in order to be a valuable security warrior (a protector)! It starts with the mindset of one looking to protect themselves and/or others and it builds on that.The book is very detailed and divided into sections with drills and scenarios that you can practice that mirror real life. The more times you read it, the more you will gain from it. Different sections will apply to different people at different times so you can skip around looking for what you may need help with at a particular point in time.I am a mom and would never have thought i could use this kind of information in my life, but everything in this book can be applied to life in the city. I have taken some of Garret's seminars and used the DVD's to master some of the things i get stuck on at the range. I am psyched to improve on what i have achieved so far because being able to feel comfortable, knowing that I can protect myself and my family if a situation should ever arise is invaluable!

I am looking to get into EP work and this book was recommended to me. Being new to the game, I can't really comment on the accuracy or efficacy of the information (although it does seem to be rather general in addressing a multitude of concepts). However, I can comment with certitude that Mr. Machine needs to enlist the aid of a competent copy editor/proofreader. This book is chock full of typographical errors, bad grammar, and terrible punctuation. Page 76 is particularly egregious. ("Dose" instead of "does"; comma splices; "therefor"; etc.) Having been a proofreader in a past life, I found it difficult to not read this book with a pen in hand, making marks that will be seen by no one but me. Frankly, when I pay $25 for a book I expect that it's not the author's first rough draft. And if he threw it down on paper and put it out there without even a cursory second look, I have to wonder how that reflects on his approach to security planning. Can't recommend.

Israeli Security Concepts" provides a rare glimpse into the real world of personal protection. The author, Garret Machine, explains the Nuts and bolts of a security team. The what, when, where and how of keeping importantly people safe. Your getting battle tested knowledge that just is not available anywhere. I found the book to be a real page turner, impossible to put down.Israeli Security Concepts appeals to both the professional and the average aware citizen who realizes he is his families "bodygaurd". The knowledge I recieved from "Israeli Secuirity Concepts" has forever changed the way I view a pub, how I drive, where and how I sit in a restaraunt.In this time of uncertainty in the world, this is a "must have book" that is filled with "must have knowledge". I can't wait for the second edition. LP

This book is an excellent reference source for anyone needing a comprehensive training schedule for pistol & rifle as well as advanced security protocols. It also details in exact detail the requierments one needs have to be considered a top security operator. From physical requirments, to pistol and rifle requirments to, specifics on various makes of bombs to dealing with terrorists and hostages, this book covers it all. It offeres a straight forward no nonsense approach laid out in a easy to follow format. If you are in need of a detailed view into the world of security training protocols and requirments and personal protection from the Israeli counterterrorist mindset, this book is a must have. Even if you are already a security pro, this book will offer insights that no other book on the market has ever attempted.

This book was not only very informative but also motivational for me. As a security warrior my self I was inspired to go out and train after reading this book. The course and drills described within were excellent for any one, particularly for those who will be deploying over seas on a high risk security detail.I feel as though this book was also a great guide and source of information when preparing for home defense in the urban environment. It was useful and provided many new insights in helping me with security assessments.I was impressed with the book's simple style in conveying a complicated subject. The author is clearly an expert in this field.this book was very easy to read. I could not put it down because it made me thirsty for more information.

This book is a great compliment to the associated courses taught by its author/instructor. I think that reading this book is a must for anyone in the security field. A lot of the concepts and ideas might be over the head of someone who is not currently working in the field or has no experience with high risk security. Further I would say that to get a full and complete picture, of how to run a security detail and build physical security systems, take the course with the powerpoint presentation. It is basically an 8 hour presentation about everything in the book but it opens up your mind to give you a full 360 degree picture. It is Comprehensive in regards to training drills.The author has great experience which makes his training tactics so well written.This provides a look into how the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) train.It's the real deal when it comes to authentic IDF training techniques.Overall, excellent book if you want to train, if your just looking for more of a read, you might find it bring because the book is basically all techniques, which is a good thing.This was a great add to my personal library.
