Motorcraft Ignition Wire

my explorer has 141K after reading through explorer forums i decided to do the plus wires and fuel filter. all these should show a good change in fuel economy.that being said i had these put in by a mechanic along with Bosch 4505 IR fusion plugs. i have owned my truck for three years and been meticulous with oil changes and since i did not know the previous owner i figured it was time to change the wires and plugs.since having them put in i noticed right away that there is no hesitation on start ups. before i did the plugs and wires sometimes it would sound like it didnt want to turn over (brand new battery).its only been about a week since i got them put in and i just filled up the explorer. before the plugs and wires i was getting 13.7 mpg avg. ill update this with my next fill up.overall i can feel the difference in my truck and love it.

I had to use one old wire because one wire wasn't long enough. I've had this issue before with plug wires.

Hard to tell this early. Has not driven in that much heat or rain yet but no problems so far and seems to run smooth. However it was running well before. My son just thought it was time to change them since they were the original with over 100,000 miles. What can I say.

When it comes to the wire set, always go with OEM. There's a reason why the local parts stores sells the knock-offs for half of OEM. You really get what you pay for when it comes to the quality of the cord. If you are wondering if you need cords or plugs, you will notice take off isn't spunky and inclines seem to be a challenge. Especially if you are carrying a load, your vehicle will be a bit sluggish.

Factory replacement work out better for me. I had an off brand set and they were too sort. Amazon had Motorcraft and they were cheaper than local store. I also notice this set was a little longer, making it easer to install. My explorer is running good. Very happy with my purchase.

I have purchased several used car parts in the past. Doing so with anything ignition related is a terrible idea.These all appear used, and I have no way of knowing for how long, therefore they are useless to me.On top of that, the product is sold as a direct match for my 6 cylinder engine, with the packaging saying so as well, however only 5 wires were in the pack.All in all an absolutely terrible purchase. There was no indication that this is sold as a used product and apparently zero quality control by the seller.
