HighlanderOpen Face Thinsulate Balaclava

I ordered two Thinsulate balaclavas as pictured and advertised, only to be sent out two knitted, smelly, cheap ones of a never before heard brand. I emailed and was happy to be informed I would be sent out the correct balaclavas I originally ordered free of charge, I received my delivery this morning to find I'd been sent out two different (but equally poor quality and smelly) balaclavas. Not happy at all.All four have been binned, I wouldn't even donate them, they're that poor.

Well to start with this product is definitely not the same brand stated in the title and photo, not a big problem I thought.. that was until I tried to put it on. I'm a slim lady with what I'd like to call an average sized head for a woman of my size, I usually find adult hats and face coverings such as this too big for me so for this balaclava to be as small and tight as it is n me would certainly lead me to the conclusion this is infact made for a child.. No doubt returning it would cost almost as much as I'd payed so not worth the hassle.. Saying all that if you do purchase it for a child I can say the quality, although not the brand stated is pretty decent, but if you are an adult, even a small one I'd certainly look else where!

Note that the item delivered is not as pictured. Don't know where the Thinsulate label shown on the picture came from but the item delivered is labelled "Rockjock thermal insulation" and the material does not look anything like the other Thinsulate items I own.. I don't think that Amazon should be allowing this deception.Having said that the quality does not look too bad so given the very low price (I ordered 2) I decided not to return the (sometimes life is just too short.........)It remains to be seen how it wears over time.

I bought this product ahead of a ski holiday in Italy. The resort is at just over 2000m and so the temperatures are freezing and the winds high, making for an often uncomfortable time. I had bought this balaclava as a back up, and on sale at £3 I didn't really expect much other than to sit in the hotel room incase my good one got wet. However, after deciding to forget my good balaclava at home, this became my only one. I was very, very surprised at the quality of the balaclava, it has two layers - an outside chunky knit type thing, and a microfleece Thinsulate lining (genuine) on the inside for comfort. These combined meant absolutely no wind and a very warm face. The opening is perfectly sized - my the foam padding of my goggles sat perfectly around the edge, meaning I could see out well. It is flexible enough that if you don't want it infront of your nose and mouth, you can simply stretch it around them. Finally, the neck is long - a welcome change from other balaclavas where you get a draft around the back of your head and neck sometimes. For the price, and the unexpected quality that this balaclava provided, I can't really think of any reason not to give it 5 stars, and would highly recommend it.

This is brilliant to wear under your helmet on either push bike or motorcycles. It also keeps the draft out, which is brilliant for this chilly November weather, especially going down a 2 mile hill, Bathwick Hill. I managed to still keep my whole head and neck warm, while travelling at high speeds. It also doesn’t fog up your glasses.

Arrived quickly, good price, good quality material. But Far too small. Very tight. Not suitable for who I bought it for. Tried it myself but too tight. Will have to pass it on to my grandson. It did fit my Grandson, so it will be used, rather than returning it.

This is a well made product and great value for money. It could be ever so slightly bigger, or another size up, but its quite wearable. Shipped and received in good time. Definately recommended.

purchased this so that i can ride my motorcycle in winter. exactly what i wanted, at an unbelievable price! warm and snug, and thin enough to not make my already snug helmet feel uncomfortable.
