I LOVE THIS PET DRINKING FOUNTAIN
I purchased this IPETTIE ceramic pet drinking fountain a little over 8 months ago but waited until now to write a review, so that I had adequate time to assess how well it worked, whether it truly helped to increase my kitty's water intake, and how well it stood up under constant use.I was hesitant to purchase the fountain at first, because I thought it was a bit over priced. However, it is very well made, attractive, runs very quietly, and truly does intake my feline companion, Dixie, to drink more water. The fountain is a nice size; not so large that it takes up too much floor space in the kitchen and gets in the way, but large enough to hold an adequate supply of water. I completely clean the fountain and all parts weekly, and change out the carbon filter every other week (washing the one being used in between time). The fountain is relatively quick and easy to dismantle, clean, and put back together; I don't mind the chore at all. Before I got the fountain, I had trouble getting Dixie to drink enough water to adequately flush out her kidneys and keep her properly hydrated, even though I put fresh water in a bowl beside her food dish, twice daily. I often had to resort to running the faucet in the bathroom lavatory during my morning ritual, to entice her to drink. Even though she acted disinterested in the fountain the first few days, she did eventually take to it. I KNOW that Dixie gets enough water now; I often witness her drinking from it each day. Also, her kitty litter box 'renderings' attest to the fact that daily water intake has greatly increased. So to me, the fountain has been well worth the cost.I keep extra carbon filters on hand (10 pack with 3 foam filters or around the base of the pump). I also have an extra pump on hand in case the one that came with it fails. But so far, it continues to work great!-The only part I have not been able to find and would like, is the white plastic housing that holds the carbon filter, which attaches to the top of the pump. I have been concerned that over time, because I have to take it apart each week to clean, the the filter's plastic housing will degrade and break.(As with any water pump, never try running it when it has not been primed and submerged in water.)

Wonderful fountain that has doubled my cat's water intake!
I LOVE this fountain. It's now been just over a month since I got it for my girl and I couldn't be happier. I always thought that my cat drank enough water and didn't find out until I was reading about the benefits of water fountains, that my cat was actually drinking less than half of what cats who eat dry food should actually be drinking (my girl refuses to eat anything but her dry food so in order to avoid future health problems with her kidneys, I need to make sure that she drinks enough). So, I did tons of research, read reviews, and finally decided to try this fountain. For a fountain, I wanted the following things:1. It needed to be ceramic because I didn't want bacteria to easily grow on it since my girl is prone to allergies and I had heard that ceramic is one of the best materials to avoid issues with this.2. It needed to be quiet (it is in my bedroom so the last thing I want is to be hearing water dripping all night)3. It needed to not cost a fortune (since this was my first fountain, I didn't want to spend a ton on something that I wasn't sure would work for my cat)4. It needed to be big enough to hold a week worth of water (I usually would clean the water bowl daily but if I was going to have a fountain that keeps the water clean and healthy longer, I wanted something that would keep the water clean and healthy for a week)5. It needed to look nice as this was going to be in the entrance of my room where anyone could see it easily6. It needed to be easy to clean (since cleaning a water bowl out daily was easy for me, I didn't want to end p with a chore that would be super time consuming and difficult to take apart and put back together)So, did this fountain meet my needs? YES! YES! YES! I LOVE this fountain and so does my cat. It is everything I could have hoped for and to top everything off, it has encouraged my girl to drink 2-3 times more water on a daily basis. I'm not sure if this is the design of the bowl or not, but there is a tiny black dot on the side of the inside of the main bowl and this dot helps me judge how much my girl is drinking on a daily basis. The only down side to the bowl (and it's not really a down side, it's just my preference) is that it was a bit larger than I had expected. So, I had to find a spot on my furniture that fit the fountain as I didn't want to put it on the floor. However, once I found the right spot, I was very happy and so is my kitty cat. If I had to judge what size pets this bowl would work for aside from cats, I'd say it would also work for small to medium sized dogs. The bowl holds more than enough water for 2 weeks for my cat, but I like to change it every week just to have extra fresh water in there. So, I bet it would hold enough for a week for a small dog and you'd probably need to refill it once or twice a week for a medium sized dog.So, to recap, overall this is an AWESOME fountain that is well made (made in France), ceramic, doesn't cost a ton, is easy to clean, looks nice, holds plenty of water, is super quiet (you just hear a tiny water sound on occasion but not enough to really notice unless the room is silent), and it does it's job in getting my cat to drink more water. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for a fountain for their cat or dog.

very quiet, made of porcelain, the kittens love it…
Very happy with the pet fountain. We’ve been using it for over 2 months. It is very quiet, made of porcelain (vs plastic), the kittens love to drink from it and lay next to it to watch it bubble. One reason it appealed to me is if the power goes out they still have a big bowl of water they can drink from. It was easy to assemble. Seems to stay pretty clean, but I do wash the bowl out about every 2 weeks. Looks and works as described, no issues. I have recommended it to others.
