Just got the product and the installation was straight forward. I didn't need the instruction but I did take a look at it afterwards. Kinda figured it out just by mocking things up.1 thing I wish this product could do was hold the hood more vertical. But overall it serves the purpose I wanted when I bought it. To keep my hood open without a hood prop rod.Will update in 3 months how they hold up.*4/24/23 updateProduct has been holding up the past 6 months. During the winter it was just as smooth opening and closing and holding up the hood. I definitely am glad I purchased it but still wish it opened the hood a little more.

The item was Easy to Install on my 2002 Subaru Legacy GT I'm sure most of these products will work well with early model subaru's as well. The Cons of these Gas struts is that they are not really strong especially with a steel hood. So being careful with them will make them last much longer.

I put these on my 2019 Crosstrek and the install was easy and only took about 30 min. They look and work great!

The quality of the product was excellent. The instructions, however, were not very clear and you really needed to study the pictures to get the job done correctly. Also, you may need to swap the hood( bonnet ) bumpers between left and right to avoid drilling new holes for them. I would definitely recommend these and purchase them again.

I bought these after seeing another reviewer regarding installing these on a 2nd gen outback.I put these on my 01 outback and they work great. I think the strut force is a little high for my aluminum hood, but they should be perfect for a steel hood.The only issue I had is the retaining clip on the drivers side. There isn't enough room to get it in because of the fender wall clearance. But as long as you don't push on the hood once opened it won't pop off.You also have to pay attention to the bracket on the hood. A couple adjustments will be needed to get the strut as close to the fender without touching.On my car, I also had rubber hood stops where the strut lays when the hood is closed. Those are easy enough to remove.

Not too sure what happened or if it was just a defect or what but I was able to mount one but the other one is obviously broken.

I removed the OEM shocks from the shock mounts but left the OEM mounts in place. These aftermarket shocks has the same style shock mounts so no need to replace the OEM ones. The install was almost tool less. 1 flat head screw driver was used to unclip the shock. 3min install job for me.

Cheeper then OEM and just as good looking.No more sagging hood2015 sti

Easily installed on my 2004 Subaru WRX, though the provided instructions however are completely useless for an entirely successful install. Overall build quality is great and is a much more affordable option than branded hood struts such as ones offered by Grimspeed.

Amazing ! Easy install work better then I thought they would. And clears up so much room in the engine bay.
