Bedz King Stairway Bunk Beds Twin over Twin with 3 Drawers in the Steps and 2 Under Bed Drawers - Espresso

My doubts come from how relatively inexpensive this bunk bed was compared to what some local furniture stores were selling. In my opinion, you definitely get way more than what you pay for here, which is rare in the furniture world. Or perhaps I'm just used to paying too much for overpriced stuff. Anyhow this is a great bed and I'm still patting myself on the back for pulling the trigger on our kids' new bed sight unseen via amazon, instead of the one we checked out at local furniture stores that cost up to 3-4x as much. I was expecting slightly lesser quality, but after assembling this on my own I can honestly say that it's just as good if not better. Virtually all the pieces are made of nicely finished solid wood (brazilian oak is what they claim, which I believe since there's "made is brasil" stickers everywhere lol), the bolts, screws, nuts, and other hardware appear solid, and they all arrived in 5 large well-packed double-boxes via amazon-scheduled freight delivery in a 3-hour window of my choice. Assembly was long and tedious, but that's to be expected from furniture like this. It took me about 8 hours total, but keep in mind that I proceeded at a very slow and careful pace by myself, so as not to make any mistakes, while also watching some of the Rio Olympics on TV and drinking some beers along the way ;) The assembly instructions were well-illustrated and easy to follow and although it specifically warned against using power tools, I used them anyway to save my aging wrists from fatigue and possible injury. If you're going to use power tools, just be careful especially with a cordless impact wrench like I did. It's very easy to be overzealous with such power tools and overtorque the bolts and screws to cause some slight cracking or splitting of the wood. I think this is why the instructions specify that you should only tighten the hardware with a manual screwdriver and the provided allen wrenches; to help prevent such cracking and splitting from overtightening.Once assembled, it's easy to marvel at how well made and well designed this bed is. Our kids love it. They now enjoy the go-to-bed routine so much that it's much easier to them both to bed now. They love climbing up and down the steps and because it is a stairway with guard rails, there are far less incidents and accidents that what is normally experienced from a more traditional ladder bunk bed. As parents, we love this feature on this bunk bed. Even more to love is the extra storage the pull-out drawers provide on the stairway, as well as under the bed. Such a thoughtfully-designed space-saver!I was going to ding this review minus 1 star for a few pieces of missing hardware (I was missing some nuts that while did not prevent completion of assembly, did leave some doubt to its stability), but I emailed bedz king about the missing nuts the following monday and within 2 hours got a response back with an apology saying that my parts are to be mailed out immediately. I received them 2 days later! Great customer service without even having to talk to anyone. Well-deserving of the 5 stars! What a great bed.

My amazing wife put together this bunk bed almost completely by herself. If you subtract all the interruptions, assembly took probably around 5-6 hours. The instructions were all pictures and a few times she missed a small hole that was only in one side of the board and had to take screws back out to turn boards over. A couple of the drawer boards slightly cracked putting in screws, but overall, the bunk beds are great. It seems really sturdy, even when our monkeys started to jump on it (of course the jumping did not last long). The drawers are nice and big, so we won't need a separate dresser.

This was bought for my granddaughter. She loves it! Calls the bottom bunk her cozy cabin and the top the windy hill. It is stocked with every known stuffed animal. This bed has so much storage underneath and in the three drawers leading to the top bunk. All of the drawers are a generous size. The whole thing is solid. It took my son in law 3 or 4 evenings to get it all together. There are a lot of pieces and he was doing it after work. He had no problems. It went together smoothly.All in all, this was a great purchase. The best price was at Amazon. We looked everywhere before buying. We are so happy with the beds.

Honestly, I love this bunk bed. Very sturdy and durable. It says you don’t need power tools just a screw driver and a hammer. YOU WILL NEED A POWER TOOL. Some of the wood are not precut. It’s like this company really want you to get a work out. Expect to take 5-6 hours on it without power tools. The instructions are pictures and it takes two people to put together. I notice it’s not a lot of head space at the bottom bunk so this is really design for children. I think pre teens would hit their heads a lot on this. Overall it’s a cute starter bunk bed.

I bought this to replace two twin beds. It is very sturdy! The stairs are so sturdy that I (as an adult) feel comfortable climbing up to the top bunk. I love how it saves space in the room. Not only did it get rid of the two beds, but also the need for extra dressers. My grandkids LOVE it, and love how much more space is available to play in their room. My husband put it together all by himself, and felt the directions were very clear and easy to follow. It took a total of 6 hours over 2 days to put it together.

This bunk bed is well made and sturdy. Assembly was straight forward, but of course, it took several hours. The quality of the product was apparent immediately. We felt we were taking a chance purchasing a piece of furniture sight unseen, but this bed has worked out great. My grandchildren love it, and their mother is ever so pleased with the choice. I guess the controversy about who gets the top bunk is only to be expected and not to be referred by the manufacturer. In the end, the first to claim it as his own was the cat.

I have to say the saying "you get what you pay for" doesn't work for this bunk bed. I looked for months trying to find an affordable bunk bed with stairs. Local stores either were back ordered for months or the price was crazy high. I was a little scared to purchase such an expensive and important item on amazon. I'm truly amazed at the quality of this bed. Assembly does take two people however I was 5 months pregnant at the time and was able to help my husband do this (he did most) and it took us roughly 5 hours to put it together. We will be needing another bunk bed soon and will come back to buy one from here.
